Hello to all of the aspiring essayists,

My S. II in GAMSAT was my strongest section and significantly boosted my marks with a score of 87. To my mind, I think that section II is a real bonus in disguise; it is the easiest section to prepare for and arguably the most enjoyable. When I first started to prepare for GAMSAT, I recall sitting down to write my first essay (which I still have!).

My trick or secret or whatever you want to call it to a good essay is its structure. Even if your writing sucks, if your structure is good you will pick up some points! The markers are reading thousands of essays, they don't want to get lost, they dont want to have to jump back two paragraphs and think "what were they getting at?" I used a three point structure for the gamsat, with the last point also being the conclusion. Here's an example:
